Watch Out For The Federale On The Blue Motorcycle In Ciudad Constitution, Baja Sur. - I recently drove from Todos Santos to Los Angeles. I have delt with "la mordida" or literally ?the bite.? When a Mexican cop asks for cash to let you out of an infraction on site. However this time when I stopped on a side road in Ciudad Constitution, double parked with my hazards on, I ran into a quite angry motorcycle cop who insisted I follow him to the police station, after a few blocks a couple lefts and rights we stop (not at the Police station). He insisted I give him five hundred pesos. I told him that I was in Baja for work and didn't have the money. He asked if I was on Vacation, I said no, he then lowered his demand to Two hundred pesos, and I said no! I am here working I have no money for you, he let me go with a warning. RE: Police on Highway and Near Airport - hi folks here are some answers from your concerns about cops on the higway and near the airport highway. Try to have all your paper work on your car current because if you dont they will try to stop you for expired tag how they see you they have radar for speed and binoculars to see your license plate before you get them watch on top of the hill or undernead brige they will be there other wise take town road and go around this guys friend pick up wait for your friends inside parking lot other way if you stop some where in the road you will get a tiket so won`t stop keep going cheaper few laps than few bucks
if your license or tag expire the ticket to warranty that is over 5000 pesos or 90 days of salario minimum in mexico city 50 % discount if you pay before 15 days to warranty payment they will tow your vehicle to a compound they will give you an oficial inventory of your vehicle and the oficial ticket you have to go to the bank pay the ticket there and bring that to the ofice so you will have your car back if you don`t want to pay the proper way then you know what to do tip tip tip but don`t show your wallet full of money because they want more everi time in conclusion get your paper work fix and get out of trouble my best regards to my friends and folks i will be writing coments every week next how to get away from been rip of the gas station - Navi Friend, Baja California Sur
Important Legal Information - 1. Immigration laws and procedures have changed. You no longer file for immigration papers at the office of immigration, all filings are now made through the inter net in Spanish. The visa document has now been replaced by a plastic immigration card that looks much like a credit card Be very careful when you fill out your application, check thoroughly for errors as any mistakes will result in your application being canceled and you will have to resubmit your application. If you need help to file for your visa application or to renew your status our office is able to answer questions and help you with all your filings.
2. If you are involved in a traffic accident DO NOT move your vehicle until the police arrive. Do not run away! Immediately call your insurance company so they can negotiate a settlement on your behalf.
If you do not have insurance and the police find that you are at fault you must compensate for damages immediately. If you do not and the aggrieved party files a complaint against you it is important to get legal representation. If you fail to prove your case the judge will order that you be put in jail until you pay the damages. Once charges have been filed and you have answered the complaint you or your attorney must follow the process of the case. If you fail to do so you may not have any additional opportunities to respond to the charges against you and will lose your case. If the judge rules against you and you still refuse to pay for damages the judge will order your arrest.
3. The Federal, State and Local police are conducting extensive sweeps looking for stolen vehicles. All foreign vehicles must have current registration, license plates and the driver must have a valid driver?s license. Be sure to carry these documents with you in your vehicle. Mi Perro Muy Vago - Many of you know him. He can jump my wall and often does. He heads to town where he has numerous favorite hangouts - the bookstore, Tacos Chilakos, and Buena Vida, among others. I call him Dusty, others call him Pancho. He is frequently gone for 48 hours, occasionally for as long as four days, but never a week, which is how long it has been since I've seen him. He has not been sighted at any of his other haunts. His last known sighting was by Cruz at the bookstore last Tuesday. He followed a friendly couple over to Chilakos, and hasn't been seen since. I and all of his other fans and supporters would really like news of him. He is Baja tan, has some pitbull in his face and carriage, is incredibly friendly and likes to pretend that, despite his extremely loyal following, he has been abandoned. Beyond Pitiful - there is a pitiful looking Husky/Shepperd mix dog on the road down to cerritos beach. It has a section of a rope tied around its neck and has not eaten for WEEKS by the looks of it and has mangy spots all over. It seems to have been tied up and abandoned at a lot that has a palapa being built on it on the right hand side of the road as you drive towards the beach.
