Help Us Help Needy Families and Children - We have received a cry for help from the newly reopened agricultural camp located north of Todos Santos. There are approximately 150 adult workers and 50 children living in the camp who desperately need clothing, bedding, household good (pots/pans etc) children's clothing, diapers, bottles, etc. These families have come to our area to work in the fields, an most have next to nothing. If you wish to donate items, they can be dropped of at La Canada, Monday-Saturday 7am-6pm. We will make sure that your donations get to the families that urgently need them. We are also taking up a special collection of small toys, candy etc, to make gift baskets for the 50 children in the camp to celebrate, April 30th, Day of the Child. Robbery Warning - Please be careful. I got robbed last night. Does Movistar Cell Phone Registration Require A Mexican Curp Number? - I recently registered my Movistar cell phone as required. Today I received a call from an English-speaking Mexican who said he was with Movistar. He said the Mexican government now requires foreigners with Movistar cell phones to obtain a CURP identification number that Mexican citizens are given. This requires a visit to a government office in La Paz or Cabo. Then the CURP must be supplied to a Movistar office or to my caller when he calls again. Smells like a potential identity scam.
