Announcing the 17th Annual Festival de Artes to be held at historic Rancho Buena Vista from 9am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 28th. This popular event sponsored by the Asociacion de Artes in East Cape, is known as the primer showcase for local artists who display and sell their original art. Well-known regional artists have already begun to sign up including; Judith Greenleaf for San Jose del Cabo, Frank Hill from La Paz and Jason Durland from Todos Santos to name a few.
Entertaining this year will include "Maya and Friends" from the Skeleton Key group, the award-winning East Cape Tae Kowan Do performers along with Luis and his guitar. The "Food Booth" will feature the famous Festival Burgers and Jumbo Hot Dogs. Rancho's historic "Palapa Bar" will be open all day to serve the drink of your choice.
Funds from the Festival de Artes go to support the community activities of the Asociación de Artes which include: Arts and education supplies for East Cape schools, support for art festivals in historic communities including San Antonio, and El Rosario, participation in the Los Barriles "Cursos de Verano" summer vacation program, Local Artist Studio tours and an "Artist in Resident" program featuring Oaxacan Artist Xochitl Rivera who teaches students at the secondaria school in Los Barriles how to create murals.

at 624-124-8078. The fee for the 3m x 3m space is $200 pesos with your own table and chair or $250 pesos to rent a table and chair. We also encourage artists to bring an umbrella for shade. Our Next Phone Book - Do you have any suggestions for our next Phone Book? Some people have moved-on and many numbers are out-dated. Corazon Vaquero DVD Back In Stock - The hit of last year's film festival, Corazon Vaquero (The Heart of the Cowboy)is finally back in stock. A beautifully photographed documentary on a unique and vanishing way of life in the mountain ranges of Baja, this DVD is difficult to find. I was only able to get 15, far fewer than the many requests I have had.

Seeking Early Retirement - My Working Days Are Over - My name is Azul and I am a purebred Australian Cattle Dog and, due to an injury, or perhaps distemper in my early days, I am no longer able to work on the ranch. My owners are too poor to feed a dog that cannot contribute, so I was put out to fend for myself. My rescuers found me starved and sick. Today I am healthy with a few special needs that do not affect my ability to be a good companion. I am clean and quiet. I bark when appropriate. I need help getting into the car but happily jump out for my daily morning walks. The weakness in my back legs keeps me off the furniture! My foster mom thinks I am pretty darn smart as I have learned to sit and stay and I am ready and eager to learn more. My breed makes me loyal to my family and I get along with the other family dogs. I have had a thorough neurological evaluation by a US vet. I am aprox. 2-4 yrs old and my weakness is not expected to get worse. Still Missing - Lost Dog - Please help us find our dog! There was an accident on Sunday, January 3rd around 2 pm at KM 224 1/2 on highway 1, 55 km north of the Bahia Los Angeles turn off at Punta Prieta, in the Laguna Chapala area. The middle of nowhere.
Our dog was inside the van that rolled and when he got out he ran off into the desert and we were unable to find him after searching hours and days.
His name is "Pickle". He is a neutered, tan lab/great dane mix. He is very Friendly, but I'm sure very scared. He was wearing a collar with a name tag that had our numbers on it; both U.S. and Mexico. He was last seen by a witness, running west into the desert at km 224 1/2.
The reward has been increased to $1000 usd.
I am willing to do what it takes to get my sweet boy back.
If anyone has seen him or knows of anything, please let me know.
