The Baja Western Onion - Sunday, September 03, 2006

Hi Again,

While passing along updates on Hurricane John, I got a lot of positive feedback from many wanting to know more about what was happening here. It reminded me that we on "The Left Coast" of Baja might benefit from a quick and easy way to communicate happenings in our area. Inspired by the very successful and popular Baja Pony Express serving the Los Barillas/East Cape area, Debra and I decided to create "The Baja Western Onion," serving the communities of Todos Santos, Pescadero, and surrounding areas. The Baja Western Onion provides an easy way to post items of general interest to our local community via e mail.

You might think of the Baja Western Onion as an instant e mail "Bulletin Board" where you can get your message or question delivered to hundreds in our community:

  • - Got an item you need, or want to sell?
  • - Need a ride to/from the airport?
  • - Need advice on where to find a particular service, product or produce in the area?
  • - Going North or South and want company or want to share expenses?
  • - Lost or found an item or pet that needs returned?
  • - Got a technical question or need an answer about living in Baja?
  • - Lost an address and need to find someone?
  • - Have news of an upcoming event?

The Baja Western Onion can help you quickly connect and share with your friends and neighbors. Subscribers can submit items for inclusion at any time via e mail. Every few days, all year round, the latest issue of The Baja Western Onion will be automatically delivered to your e mail inbox.

A Few Notes:

- The Baja Western Onion is not a forum for political debate or for posting controversial topics or discussions. There are already other online venues in our area better suited for airing opinions or picking fights.

- Due to possible issues with Mexican Tax Laws, all items offered are assumed to be "For Trade" only. Do not submit listings with the words "For Sale" or include a $ value in your listings. "Trade For Coconuts" is always a popular alternative to "For Sale."

- The Baja Western Onion is an all volunteer effort. As such, delivery of The Baja Western Onion may be as time permits.

To submit an article or item for inclusion, simply reply to this e mail or send an e mail to mailto:Moderator ( - a t - ) BajaWesternOnion.com

I also set up a website for The Baja Western Onion here (work in progress):

http://www.BajaWesternonion.com

The site contains FAQs and other helpful information. There, you can also subscribe or unsubscribe, retrieve present and past issues, and submit items for inclusion in the next issue.

Thank You,

Alan Thompson and Debra Webster
